  • Use Quick Timer for short tasks without starting a full baking session.

FAQs

How do I start a baking session?

Open a recipe in the Recipes tab and start a session. ProofPal will guide timing, track steps, and let you mark progress as you go.

What do the Stretch and Bulk tabs do?

Stretch tracks stretch-and-fold intervals, while Bulk tracks fermentation duration and completion timing. Both support reminders and quick completion actions.

Can I track my sourdough starter in ProofPal?

Yes. The Starters tab lets you log feedings, see next-feeding timing, track hydration, move between fridge/counter modes, and plan bake-day prep feedings.

Can I see active timers on lock screen or Apple Watch?

Yes. ProofPal supports Live Activities (including Dynamic Island) and companion watch updates for active baking and quick timers.

How do I share or import recipes?

Share from a recipe using ProofPal links, .proofpal files, PDF, or text export. To import, open a ProofPal link or .proofpal file and the recipe will be added.

Can I change weight and temperature units?

Yes. In Settings, choose your preferred weight and temperature units for display and calculations throughout the app.

What if I accidentally delete something?

ProofPal supports undo for recent delete actions. Shake your iPhone immediately after deleting to trigger undo.

Why did I miss a reminder notification?

Check iOS notification permissions for ProofPal and confirm in-app sound notifications are enabled if you expect audible alerts.
